Beauty Beatdown

This is going to be something new im doing. I will be taking two very similar products and comparing them. Im comparing price point, how well it works, and accessibility. Sort of like two reviews in one. I know more than once i have purchased the same product over and over again trying to find which is better so hopefully this is helpful. Now getting to the products...

Lately ive been super lazy with my makeup and have only been doing the essential (foundation, blush, eyeliner, and mascara).  And to be even lazier ive been usinf felt tip/marker style eyeliners. It last longer than pencil, you make less mistakes than with liquid, and u dont need to find a brush like you for gel. Well thanks to my laziness ive been obsessed with these eyeliners. Ive been using the "Kiss" brand and the "Wet N Wild" brand but decided those weren't precise enough. So yesterday i picked up the "Eyetech Liquid Eyeliner" by Milani and the "Water Proof Eyeliner" by E.L.F.

LET THE BATTLE BEGIN!

Size Does Matter
Milani: 0.015oz

ELF: 0.06oz

How Many Rounds Will It Go
Milani: It last a generally long time. Just don't rub your eyes too much. Its also not waterproof.

ELF: It last a generally long time. It is more resistant to rubbing. It claims to be waterproof but its more like water resistant. I definitely wouldn't go swimming with it.

Easy Does It... Application
Milani: Just shake and apply. Smooth and precise application. No tugging.

ELF: Literally like using a marker. Good pigmentation. Just a bit less precise then the Milani eyeliner unless u have a very steady hand.

Breaking The Bank
Milani: $6-$8

ELF: $1

Availability
Milani: Most  Drugstores

ELF: Target, Meijer, and www.eyeslipsface.com

The Winner Is...
 E.L.F Waterproof Eyeliner Pen

Overall its pretty much the exact same product as the Milani eyeliner but you get 4 times the product for a fraction of the price. Plus it comes in several colors. Knock Out lol

Spring Brights

With spring officially here its time to add those fabulous bright colors to our makeup routine. And of course we must carry these into summer! Im also trying a new way of doing post/reviews with everything in one picture. So let me know what you think about the new style. Ive also been picking up a few more bright makeup pieces so there will most likely be a part 2 :)

1. L.A. Colors eye shadow palette in "Tease" $3.00 at Family Dollar stores:
These shadows are super inexpensive but super pigmented. it includes yellow, orange, pink, blue, and green. Ive owned mine for about 3years and they still work like new.

2. Essie nail polish in "Orange, It's Obvious" $8.00 at most drug stores:
A bright glossy orange that commands attention. Its currently available as part of the Essie 2012 spring collection.

3. Sinful Colors nail polish in "Savage" $1.99 at most drug stores:
This polish is super affordable and you can usually catch on sale for even less. The color is a neon turquoise that dries matte. You can always put a glossy clear coat if you want a different look.

4. ELF studio blush in "Pink Passion" $3.00 at Target and www.eyeslipsface.com:
The pinkest blush you can find without out it being red. This extremely pigmented blush just needs to be tapped by your brush to have enough color payoff. It also has major shimmer for a perfect glow.

5. Tokidoki Perfetto eyeliner in "Sandy" $16.00 at Sephora:
This eyeliner is a liquid in a pen/marker form. This green is subtle enough to wear with a bright lipstick yet colorful enough that it draws flattering attention to the eyes. I love using this on a naked eye and pairing it with a hot pink lipstick.

6. MAC Viva Glam lipstick in "Nicki Minaj" $14.50 at MAC counters:
This is a super bright pink lipstick that brings out the bronziness in any skin tone making it perfect for summer. This is the perfect lipstick to make you look put together on your lazy days. And in case you need another reason to buy this, all the money from the sales of this lipstick go to help fight aids. Good for you and the world.

Please let me know any feedback you may have because i do take all of it into account. Also make sure to check out my facebook page!
